| The Design Co. is full of unique and exquisite jewelry for every taste. All the jewelry is handcrafted by me with only the finest ingredients. I specialize in Swarovski Crystals, sterling silver Bali beads, gold plated or filled beads, and beautiful handcrafted Lampwork beads made by myself. I also specialize in handcrafted Lampwork beads. Each bead is intriquitly designed by melting glass on a torch. While the glass is molting hot, it is then wound on a stainless steel mandrel to form a basic bead. Once that is accomplished, the glass is now ready for the design. Design can be placed on the glass beads in many different ways. After the bead has the design, it is then placed into a kiln to be annealed for strength and durability. I have been making customs order jewelry for directors and consultants with Mary Kay Cosmetics for several years. |
| A Little History Now... On Christmas of 2003, my sister gave me a Swarovski Crystal Bracelet and matching earrings for a gift. This started my love for beads. Soon after the first of the year, I decided making jewelry was something I would like to try. After researching the internet, some local book stores, and ebay, I chunked down some Christmas money for some tools, a few cheap beads, and some wire. That’s all history!! Now, that’s the only thing I think about…what should I make next, when are my new beads going to arrive, when am I going to have time to make this!!! After several months of making jewelry and buying everything “beady” I could afford, I decided to buy a torch and some Lampworking supplies to see if I could go to the next step of making glass beads myself. Practice, Practice, Practice. Well, I’ m now able to make more than just the basic round bead!! |
